Pipli is a village in Puri district of state of Odisha, a neighbour state of Bengal with which Bengal has strong cultural and religious linkages. Pipli district is famous for its appliqué/appliquer (to put on). Pipli Art hence mean a particular technique of sewing fabric which is unique feature of this village. Mainly used in decorative purpose in households and in festivals.
Pandal here been given a shape of boat up side down through which we have tried to reflect the Varahi temple of Bhabaneswar. Varahi is one of the seven matrikas (mother-goddess) with head of pig (varaha).
